Say it costs $900 per semester to attend a community college, that’s full-time tuition plus books, for a total of $1800 per year. But according to the FAFSA you have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $1952 per year.
So when the costs are less than the EFC, how do you ever get financial aid? Does this mean you don’t even qualify for loans or Pell Grants or ANYTHING?
This is especially troubling, given that private student loans seem impossible to get at the moment.
